By the time you read this we will have returned from a month away in Illinois. You already know that it makes me nervous to allow the world to know when we're gone from our home. Therefore, I scheduled a month's worth of posts to go up automatically while we were gone from near the end of September to today. It was not easy to come up with all those posts, but I enjoyed the challenge.
It feels like a bit of a time warp since I haven't actually left while I'm writing this in September. I'm anticipating our journey and all the friends and family we'll be seeing while we're on the mainland.
From today I will have returned and will be posting about our trip to Illinois and the times we shared with the family we've missed so much. We'll get to see our granddaughter's school and meet her kindergarten teacher. Our son, Jon is planning to come and visit us from the East coast. I've already got outings planned with teacher friends. We're also planning to meet up with lots of neighbors and friends. There's so much to squeeze into such a short month, but we'll do our best.
Time is so short.

How clever of you. I would never have known you had been away. I will look forward to your Illinois posts.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Denise. It will be fun to relive our days in Illinois.
DeleteHappy vacation Kay!
ReplyDeleteI thought f you while you were away, and I wondered hw your mum was doing, I willenjoy the photos and stories from your trip!
ReplyDeleteMom was doing very well. Several neighbors made sure to check in with her every morning and visit with her. My brother and his family also spent lots of time with her. She got lots of happy attention, but was relieved when we returned.
DeleteHow nice! I'm sure you got to enjoy some nice fall weather (and scenery) that you wouldn't see in Hawaii.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to hearing about your trip, Kay. I know you do this, and that you always have a post a day, but this was incredible! I didn't have a clue you were gone! :-)
ReplyDeleteWelcome home Kay, and I do so hope that your trip was everything you wished.
ReplyDeleteKay -- I'm confused. Where are you? What time is it, really? Did you "beam over" to the Midwest and leave part of you in Hawaii? Tee Hee, I understand. Just as long as YOU know where you are. Try to do nothing for a day and rest up. We want to see a photo of you doing nothing! Anxious to hear how the Tooth Fairy is doing. DrumMajor
ReplyDeleteI am still a bit jet-lagged. However, we did go to our tai-chi class yesterday although I can't say I remembered the steps very well. Today was my Zumba class and I was ready to collapse from the vog, humidity and jet-lag. I'm here, but my brain is somewhere in Netherland.
DeleteThe Bean picture really fits your feeling of time warp.
ReplyDeleteThanks for keeping us "posted" for the whole month. I can never get more than an hour ahead of the posting deadline, let alone a whole month!
Welcome home.
you were hardly missed...lol-since we didn't know you were gone. welcome back to blogging also!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a good trip and I'm glad that you're home safe and sound, Kay!
ReplyDeleteI could tell from your comments that you must be in Illinois, but still your posts did perplex me. good job!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back! I guessed you were away from the nature of your posts.
ReplyDeleteGood job writing so many posts ahead of schedule. And when you're in Illinois you could be writing blog entries for the month ahead. So that way no pressure too lol. But writing daily and being a perfectionist must pose a challenge even to the well trained....gee like writing a newspaper column!!

I'm afraid I was REALLY pressed for time in Illinois. Every day was FILLED with things that needed to be done or things we wanted to do. One of the big things was spending time with our granddaughter. We also spent lots of time talking to my daughter and helping our son-in-law. We were touched when he said to his doctor before some foot surgery, "Would you convince my in-laws to stay a little longer? Don't you think they need to stay and help out a bit longer?" I wish we could have.
DeleteHe's a great son in law to have and I'm sure he's equally happy with you both as his mom and dad. He gained some great parents!!

Oh, if I'd heard my son-in-law say that, I would have stayed another month! I cannot imagine being so far away from my grandchildren. We are going tomorrow to stay for a couple of days to take care of them. We try to keep our schedule such that we can go anytime our daughter calls & asks for help.
Deletewelcome home Kay! Can't wait to hear about everything!
ReplyDeleteFabulous! I'm sure you had a wonderful time:-)
ReplyDeleteA whole MONTH! and they were GOOD! Wow, you got my respect. Glad you are back safely. Looking forward to what you will come up with next.

ReplyDeleteseveral years ago, somebody came all the way from the East Coast and left a note on my motorbike even though I had never posted my address or a pic of my apartment building on my tell-all blog. Funny, actually. Apparently he had military privileges for free flights, and musta been of high rank. However, things coulda just as well have gone the other way too, so please do not repeat this on my blog or yours, ever. I'm sure there are numerous Internet visitor stories out there.
Actually, do you know someone did find me anyway because they recognized my neighbor's house from my photos? That really surprised/shocked me. Do watch out for me please if you see me posting something I shouldn't. I really appreciate it, Ron.
