I just saw this on a friend's Facebook page.
To show you how behind the times I am, I've never heard of Four Square, Instagram, Last FM or G+.
I'm a devoted blogger. I have a Facebook account that I look at occasionally, but it's only for my face-to-face people, mostly relatives and older high school, college and teacher friends.
I've had requests to be Linked In, but I don't want to do it because it's just one more social media and I can barely keep up with my blogging. Besides, it's a professional media thing and I'm retired.
I don't twitter because I don't know how to tweet and my brain can't handle learning another new technology thing.
Besides, I think I'm connected enough. Are you?

yea, that donut parody says it all. True, though.
ReplyDeleteThere's a courageous thought. I agree. I am as connected as I want to be. I have lots of those accounts too, but I only look at them occasionally. Mostly I like blogs and e-mail with friends and family. The world community is a great concept, but I don't have time for more than e-mail and blogs--sometimes not much time for those either.
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny! Thanks for showing it!
ReplyDeleteI don't use Twitter, but I also have a Facebook account so I can keep up with family and friends I don't see any more. I also like to say happy birthday to friends. I have Google+ but am not impressed so far. Somebody talked me into LinkedIn but I don't use it. So we are the same: blogging is the most fun of all of those!
ReplyDelete'Four Square, Instagram, Last FM or G+'...don't know much about these either, but love the photo, it does kind of explain them!
ReplyDeleteHope you don't mind if I pin it to pin in to Pinterest!
I'm about as involved as you are, I have facebook for thesame reasons, I don't knowanything about tweeting, I'm happy with all i do, its too much at times!
ReplyDeleteMy blog and rarely-written-on Facebook are all I can handle. Enough for me.
ReplyDeleteI'm also unfamiliar with most of that stuff, and wish I'd never started with Facebook.
ReplyDeleteI do enjoy Twitter a lot. I don't 'tweet' but enjoy reading other's tweets. I'm always changing the list to fit my interest of the moment. Right now I'm following a list of knit designers and yarn companies I like.
I enjoy blogging the most.
Blessings...
ReplyDeletelol, hope you are well. I am not that savvy but i can clear up at least a couple. Twitter, not that special got a twitter account myself, not that hard either, you sign up, you tweet if you got someting to say in few words, another form of chatting without being pinned to a chatroom.
G+ is actually google plus, if you have a google account you already have one you just have to activate it. When you stop by my blog for a read, take a look at the bottom of the post there you will see g+, it means if you find what you read interesting and you want to share it with people connected to you then you hit the g+ button and follow the steps. Its a community much like facebook.
Like you am a little behind, Pinterest just learned about, not much knowledge but sounds similiar to G+.
Have a good day.
Stay blessed.

Hi Kay, thank you for your sweet comments on my blog...I am trying desperately today to catch up on my blogs...its a rainy day so perfect to sit with the dogs and follow my fellow bloggers! I loved your posts on your recent adventures...I was delighted to see the walk on water! I would love to try that one day myself! Your Jon and Sarah are just amazing young people, how fun they are and obviously never a dull moment to be found in their lives. I have a Facebook page and debate if I should even have one, it can be very addictive and I don't need to know everything about everyone! I can text and thats it with the cellphone. Way too much technology out there for me. I do love reading of my blogging friends adventures.
ReplyDeleteLove it, no not Facebook, love the photo that explains it all. I'm not a big Facebook user and find my blogging enough, and I find most of my older family and friends don't post much. I go there occasionally and mainly to see what my son has posted and a few other younger relatives. Husband and son signed me up for both Twitter and Facebook, with me telling them that I probably wouldn't use them much and I don't.
ReplyDeleteI just email and blog every day. It's enough for me right now.
ReplyDeleteI know..it's all to much sometimes and confusing
ReplyDeleteI agree, I'm too busy for pininterest or linked in...blogging take time and I need to leave some time for my life and husband and family!!
ReplyDeleteI had seen the photo a while back and had a good laugh, as it does explain things well.
ReplyDeleteI have a Twitter account which I love. Have met new people and done new things because of it.
Facebook is ok, but I don't think I have real interesting FB connects. Don't learn much except who is doing what.
I have a LinkedIn account but never seen any value at all in it.
Just started Pinterest to see what it's about. Love it for storing things for my Allied Arts Girls file. I follow no one, though. People keep pinning by stuff, so I guess I have good content.
I have a Flicker account, but have lost my ability to log in with my update to Lion OS.
I also do Yelp reviews. I'm an Elite Yelper.
The blog is where it all started. I'm not as good as you about keeping it up, but I sure enjoy the chance to write, write, write.
Just a delightful post, thank you. :) I too haven't heard of those. :)
ReplyDeleteI loved the short explanation. Like you, I agree blogging is just about enough. I do use facebook quite a bit.
ReplyDeleteI never got past blogging and emailing. FB scares me. I figure if people from my past are not in my life now, there probably is a good reason.
ReplyDeleteI still use that ancient gadget, the telephone to talk with those I care about.
You stopped by my sock monkey's blog a few months ago before it went fallow for a while.
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of all those social media. Each is junk in, junk out tho. I blog and i'm on twitter, FB, linked in and G+ but G+ does nothing so far as I can tell.
We agree! I like facebook for my friends and family.
ReplyDeleteLinked In doesn't make sense for a retiree!
Pinterst steals photos and sells them.
I have facebook friends who don't visit my blog anymore, which makes me sad...
