Eatery Review: Petals and Beans

Gigi of gigi-hawaii recommended Petals and Beans on her blog.  It looked so wonderful that we thought we'd give it a try the next time we were in Honolulu.

We met owner Chopsuey Boy and agree he is really a very friendly, wonderful person and we enjoyed meeting him.

The prices were reasonable and it was hard to choose what we wanted to order.

We decided to do what Gigi suggested and ordered the Waffle dog and Blended Drink Combo.  Art ordered the guava smoothie and Mom and I had the Mocha Expresso shake.

I have to admit that the waffle dog wasn't exactly Art's cup of tea, but then again...he's not a hot dog fan.  I thought it was interesting.  Mom liked it.

What mom and I really liked was the Mocha Expresso shakes.    We got to choose what kind of whipped cream we wanted.  I didn't even know there was chocolate whipped cream.  When mom and I stumbled over making a decision, he gave us both!  And that probably took care of our calories for the day, but it sure was fun!

  2. Looks good to me (the shakes, that is). I don't eat meat so I would have chosen something else, but you certainly made the place look like an interesting spot to check out if I ever make it to Hawaii.

sounds like a wonderfilled adventure, the stuff quality time is made of....

Pity they didn't have a samplers dish where you get a morsel of all the items.

    ON ANOTHER NOTE:

thanks for stopping by my place and sharing your wisdom from time to time. I always enjoy reading what you have to say.

  10. The waffle dog looks so interesting! Have you ever tried a pretzel dog? (I liked it.) It'd be interesting to see the Lifetime Leis - I once received a pretty one that was made with quarters. Petals and Beans is now on my list of places to try the next time I'm in Hawaii. The mocha drinks look yummy. Thanks! Nancy T.

  11. Ooh, chocolate whipped cream! And Dick says we're going to visit Hawaii again some day, no idea when, but I'll remember chocolate whipped cream.

  12. The expresso shakes look like a meal unto themselves.

This I remember about Honolulu...the wonderful food. I loved eating out there, but I was much thinner in the 1960s. Dianne

  15. It's a KC waffle dog!! as in the old KC Drive Inn? Told my husband, "did you know..." and he sounded interested. We tried Jolibee per Gigi's recommendation. She sure knows all the good eating joints around town :)
