Papaya Pickers

In 2008, KC helped Art plant a papaya tree. You can see that in two and a half years, the papaya tree has grown a little taller than KC.

KC went to help Art pick the almost ripe papayas. They needed a chair to reach the fruit.

I didn't get a photo of what happened next. Everything went well with the first two fruits. The third slipped out of KC's hands and fell. Art somehow managed to hold on to KC and catch the papaya by reflex before it reached the ground. I saw it happen and can still hardly believe it. Sheesh!

  1. Your last photo is so great, such a picture of trust.
But I'm just as glad you didn't get a shot of the falling papaya. Thank the lord it was not a falling papa or KC.
Your tree grew so quickly, so tall.

  8. I'm amazed at how fast that tree grew and produced! Of course it can grow year round there. You better watch KC, or she might grow an inch while she's ther too!
    Great catch, Art!

  9. I remember when you planted that tree and it's already bearing fruit-amazing. It looks a little tricky for grandpa standing on a chair with KC-glad they didn't fall.
