Another decision done! I've washed and ironed the duvet cover that we ordered on Overstock.com and brought back from California.
We, that is I... goofed. I washed the comforter I bought at Target and put it in the dryer. Although the directions said to tumble dry, the comforter could not tumble very much because it was too big. Hence, it melted a little and the fabric covering tore. I've mended it as best I could and it will do for now until I find something stronger. Doesn't matter much anyway since the comforter is hidden by the duvet cover. Ah well... it's OK for now.
At least the decision is over and we can sleep with it.
Lesson Learned: Next time, I'll find a laundromat and use their big dryers. Hopefully, I won't be burned twice.
Thank you, everybody, for helping us make this decision!
guud enuff.
ReplyDeleteOi! Well at least you didn't have a fire or whatever.
ReplyDeleteThe bed is beautiful now. Enjoy it.
Nice!
ReplyDeleteKay, I love that duvet cover! Everything looks great!
ReplyDeletelooks warm and comfy-the temps here in our hot desert are 32 degrees this morning-brr!
ReplyDeleteYou should have taken your comforter to the laundromat, where the dryers are humongous!
ReplyDeleteThat cover is soooo beautiful, Kay. Stunning!
looks comfortable..
ReplyDeleteLooks great to me, Kay! Enjoy! Besides with the duvet you don't have to worry about what the comforter looks like anyway!! Have a great day!

That's very stylish, Kay! The duvet cover is very beautiful! For me, it's difficult to wash pillows!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit! Yea, Oxfam is serving a great cause!
I like the style, Kay and it looks like a bedroom suite I saw once when I typed in japanese bedroom in furniture.
ReplyDeleteDid you get the photo of the box with the silk inside for your mom to translate? I never heard back from you if you did.
Well, these things happen. Been there, done that :) Your duvet looks fantastic Kay and I must mention today, how much I love your new header photo. Really, really cute!
ReplyDeleteThe duvet cover is beautiful; it gives your bedroom a very oooh-la-la look!
ReplyDeleteAbe: I did write you twice and I wrote you again. I hope you got the message. Anyway, I did show my mother the original message and she could only translate the first and last kanji characters. I'm afraid it's Chinese, not Japanese.
ReplyDeleteI adore the design you chose,so pretty and stylish.
ReplyDeleteI've burned a few things in my dryer as well:) Wouldn't it be nice to have one of those big ones in our homes??
your duvet looks beautiful, even dramatic and goes so well in your space. Too bad about the new comforter though.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great, Kay. With all of the ordering and the travel timing and the getting it all put together, even with the ooops in the dryer, it has all workd out well.
ReplyDeleteIt looks delightful in that simple room. Colors are excellent. Yes, I wash and dry at the laundrymat.
ReplyDeleteTerry and i recently took our daughter's comforter to one of those commercial laundries that have the big machines. I was shocked to pay $6 to wash, but the dryer was free.
ReplyDeleteOh dear....I am sorry about that. It could have well happened to me here..
