I was ready!Art and I got up at 5:00 AM and were out the door for the Black Friday Sales. The lines at Macy's was nuts in certain departments and empty in others. Of course we were in the snaking hour-long check out line. The funny thing is, we weren't even buying the Door Buster stuff. We didn't have to be there so early. Then again, parking was nuts, too so Art's insistence on going early was smart. When we went to drop something off at the car, I felt awful feeling eyes hopefully looking at our space.
We then went to Bed, Bath and Beyond, Borders and Longs.
We've got our tree up and a good headstart on our holiday shopping. I do believe we're doing OK. Woohoo!
Good for you Kay getting all those bargains! I didn't leave the house all day yesterday but today I'll shop a little for Christmas. I'm glad you're in the holiday mood now :)!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your bargains.
ReplyDeleteI hope you can relax soon.
The only good thing about my not having family in Israel is that I don't have to stress about holiday preparation.
I don't know how you manage all that you do, Kay.
You brave soul. I got the tree up but have vowed never to do the Black Friday thing again.
ReplyDeleteI haven't gotten out since Wednesday, so I'm shopping today some. I do have a good start on gifts already, though. I spent yesterday making the two new stockings for the new grand babies. Fun!
ReplyDeletegetting in the mood too. we even have our first artificial tree to put up sometime soon. On to Christmas...
ReplyDeleteI hate to shop. I don't enjoy it, so I let David do it. I just tell him what I want or need and he looks for it -- even comparing prices at various stores before deciding which one to buy. It is amazing what bargains he finds.
ReplyDeleteHe could not shop on Black Friday, as he had to work at the office.
This year, I told him to buy 4 boxes of macadamia nuts from Costco. These will be gifts to relatives.
Then -- money to our daughters and toys for our grandkids -- and we are done. I think...
Sounds frantic and frazzling to me, Kay.
ReplyDeleteCanadian Thanksgiving is a long weekend, Friday through Monday, in October, so we definitely don't put up our Christmas trees the next day. Nor do we have a huge post-Thanksgiving pre-Christmas sale - yet.
Like the others, I admire your energy. I'd find it hard to keep up with you and Art!

Good for you, I'm not quite there yet but I'm working on it.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that we don't shop. Nothing that you just said appealed to me. In fact, I got claustrophobic and tense just reading it1 You're welcome to the crowds! I am content with our decision not to exchange a ton of gifts for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteNo Black Friday for me. I have done much of my gift shopping on line already and had stuff shipped to Colorado. I'll wrap it when I get there. Through Amazon I get free shipping and prices are competitive. I never have been much of a bargain shopper. I usually know what I want and it's not usually a door buster.
ReplyDeleteWe did go out to buy bird seed/food this morning, pick up a few groceries and a wreath for the front door. But no mall for me until Monday morning, when everyone else goes back to work!
I did not venture out for Black Friday, probably I might of if I was a bit younger. The stores here was nuts and very crowded. I think a lot of people dread the holidays, but we make it through just fine.
ReplyDeleteI don't love shopping and I especially don't love shopping on Black Friday. My daughters went out early yesterday morning and got some good bargains.
ReplyDeleteI am glad nobody was hurt...I can't handle the crowds anymore. I am too afraid of getting knocked down...
