We're watching The Green Zone tonight starring Matt Damon. It's a war type movie. I put it on my Netflix queue for Art and I can see he's really riveted to it. Me? War movies turn me off although I like Matt Damon.
We watched The Young Victoria last night and Art was a real sport about it. He found it interesting to see how the young Queen Victoria and Prince Albert of England lived, ruled and loved. I loved the sumptuous costumes, the palaces, the love story. I believe he enjoyed seeing the political machinations of the time.
I'd better go now and pay attention to his movie. Maybe if I pay attention to it I can find something to hold my interest. I just hope there's not too much blood and violence.
I had fun watching Kung Fu Panda the night before.
Seen any good movies lately?
I went to a movie theatre and paid $6 to see Eat, Pray and Love with Julia Roberts. It was enjoyable but definitely a chick flick. I went with my cousin...there are few worthwhile movies out there either too violent or sexy or both unfortunately. Every once in a while we stumble on to one with netflix. Can't think of any names of any right now....lol!
ReplyDeleteDavid watches a lot of movies. Last Sunday, he put on REMEMBER ME, starring Miley Cyrus. I loved her piano playing segment, but walked away from it because it was too juvenile for me.
ReplyDeleteIt's a lost cause in this house. If Barry's watching something I'm not enjoying, I'll read, blog or watch something on my lap-top, using earphones. Trying to watch a chick flick with him is sheer torture ;-)
ReplyDeleteSorry. The Miley Cyrus movie was called THE LAST SONG.
ReplyDeleteLast month i saw- Up In The Air,Reader,Duplicity -we both liked them.I love thrillers like Bourne Series,Ocean Twelve and classics like Pride n Prejudice,Anne of Green Gables.I avoid watching war and horror movies as i find them very disturbing.
ReplyDeleteI hardly ever see movies. Not much fun watching a film alone.
ReplyDeleteSince the years when my kids were in the army, I've not been able to see war movies.
We both liked The Young Victoria. We usually manage to find movies that both of us can tolerate. I'm about to go downstairs now and see what I can find on Comcast.
ReplyDeleteWe just watched a really beautiful movie, Letters To Juliet. It is set in Tuscany and the scenery is gorgeous. The people are beautiful too, especially the elegant Lynn Redgrave. Sure, it's a chick movie, with a very predictable plot, but Tom liked it too.
ReplyDeleteLinda: What a coincidence! Art just talked to his sister in California and she recommended the same movie. I have just added it to my queue. Thanks a bunch!
