Dennis might be my brother, but he's got more in common with Art when it comes to building stuff and interest in technology. The two of them were visiting all the booths almost as if they were chocolate stands.

I was getting hungry and Art managed to sign up for about 6 home visits to give us estimates. Yikes! Why do I think this is going to put my (I mean OUR) bedroom set on the back burner?

After I finally managed to pull them along to the Exit, we went to the Ala Moana Shopping Center Food Court to pick up lunch. We ended up at Panda Express.

The two of them got the small bowl. For a dollar extra I got the plate. Yes, I know I look like a hog, but I really didn't eat all of it. Honest. Art ate some of it and I brought the rest home for dinner.
Cool! Do you mean solar panels that really make electricity?
ReplyDeleteIn Israel we all have water tanks and glass plates on the roof that heat the water for free.

Does Hawaii have such things?
If not, why not??
We considered solar panels but decided the outlay was too much for a very modest return over several years. Then, EVERYTHING is so expensive in this country:-/
ReplyDeleteIf it's a reasonably priced project I'd say go for it. I was listening to Larry Hagman on the radio last night - I only caught the last part of the interview but he's a devotee of energy-saving devices and knowledgeable about non-renewable resources. Interesting man.
I enjoy panda express but not building shows-maybe next time you should go shopping with a girl friend while the boys do their thing...
ReplyDeleteAh, we all have our "things" don't we? I love Panda Express! Haven't been there is a while, but your pictures stirred my appetite! I'd better get some breakfast! Have a great day, Kay!
ReplyDeleteSylvia
That plate of Panda Express food makes my mouth water, truly.
ReplyDeleteI love building shows and am fascinated with all the new things.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, your lunch is a serious yum!
Kay along with the tax breaks for the solar panels we get to sell any unused solar energy back to the electric company. I wonder if they do that in Hawaii too. Check it out, or I should say have Art check it out.
ReplyDeleteI do hope you still get your bedroom set! I know how much you want it.
That food looks yummy! It is almost time for me to go to lunch and now I want Chinese food-LOL!!
Take care!
I don't think I have ever been to one of those shows. Not exactly my cuppa tea.
ReplyDeleteI should check out the Panda Express near us.
I share your lack of patience with guy shows. But I'm glad they want to learn about new technology. Solar does make sense where you live.
ReplyDeleteI wish we could do solar....as I think they can even work in Buffalo
ReplyDeleteDina: Yes, they are panels that is supposed to make electricity. They recommend everybody get solar powered water heaters but I don't know if we'd get both the solar panels to create energy and the water heater. That's an awful lot of expense.
ReplyDeleteSherri: Yes, we're supposed to be able to sell back unused power back to Hawaiian Electric.
Everybody: We're just wondering if our roof faces in the right direction to make it worth our while.
It's funny how people have different interests, because I'd much rather be at a garden show or something!
ReplyDeleteYou have made Panda Express more popular...even i want to go .
ReplyDeletei can't help smiling at the term 'chocolate stand' .
I apologize for not leaving you a note sooner. I swear that I was bitten by the depression bug. Now that we know that G really has a job, I feel lighter and time seems free again.
ReplyDeleteMy niece's young man installs solar paneling as an extra job on the weekends. I wish we lived in the same country. He's very clever in so many ways. I could do with a handyman full-time. Gregg will be the first to admit that he's not handy around the house. I told him he's a keeper anyhow - lol :)
ReplyDeleteAn English Girl Rambles
The simple water heating solar heat collecting panel and a water tank on the roof are not that expensive.
ReplyDeleteI think it is the real solar panels that make electricity that are expensive.
Everybody in Israel has the water heating system.
I have to turn on the electric water heating only about two hours per YEAR.
