I've been so up to my ears these past few days and will be for several more, but I wanted to catch up with all my blogging friends tonight. Unfortunately, I'm finding that my computer is having a hard time loading the Wordpress blogs. It's taking forever to show and then when I try to post a comment, it doesn't seem to want to let me.
Gigi uses Wordpress and she says she was having a problem commenting on my Blogspot blog for a while. She said, "I found I cannot comment using OPEN ID, but I can using NAME/URL or ANONYMOUS."
I wonder what's going on... or is it my computer that's being particular?
I am having computer problems too. I hope you are feeling better after your injury.

ReplyDeleteWordpress wouldn't load on my own computer earlier today, so perhaps the siute is having problems.
I can't 'follow' Wordpress so have to subscribe and then make comments through the emails that come in.

Sorry to hear about your injury. Is it sciatica, do you think? That immobilises me, but Voltarol really helps and a TENS machine.
I don't know how compatable the two programs are but I'm about ready to switch to Wordpress. It seems much more stable than Blogspot. I've blogged on both. Blogspot is definitely simplier to use but Wordpress feels like a program that knows what it's doing. I don't wake up to growing pains and Blogspot seems to have. The only thing holding me back from switching is more people use Blogspot. Are you in the Blogspot program when you try to open Wordpress blogs. Perhaps it's another Blogspot glitch. I actually don't know. I just know I'm very tired of messing with Blogspot.

I know Gigi had trouble posting on my Blogspot, but so far I have had no trouble opening any word press blogs. I know so little about the technicalities of anything that goes on "behind the scenes" in this stuff, so no answers here, I'm afraid.
ReplyDeleteI know I switched to Firefox browser from Internet Explorer last year or so when I was having problems browsing blogspot.

ReplyDeleteI use mostly Firefox.
But on an average of once a day over the last week, my notebook computer has almost given me a heart attack. The screen breaks up into black and white vertical stripes which do a cascading devil's dance. The only way to escape from it is by hitting the OFF button of the computer.
Does this mean it's warning me of an impending crash??
Somebody say no, quick!
I'm always disappointed when I find a blog I enjoy is from Wordpress. It's much harder to follow.
ReplyDeleteI've had difficulty posting comments on some of my favorite blogs lately, but I've not noticed whether they are Blogspot or Wordpress.
ReplyDeleteI have no trouble logging onto Wordpress or Blogspot blogs. But, I still use NAME/URL to leave a comment on Blogspot.

This seems to be an ongoing problem. For a while there - about six months ago I also wasn't able to leave comments on certain blogs. I changed to Firefox for a while but went back to Google Chrome and everything calmed down. I'm keeping my fingers crossed but I have been able to leave comments on all the blogs I visited lately. Hope this keeps up. Also hope you are feeling better today Kay.

ReplyDeleteOh I'm a Blogspot devotee. I've done Wordpress but find Blogspot my fav. I've not had a problem loading so hopefully it's a momentary glitch.
ReplyDeleteIt's not just you, not just Gigi -- I'm having a terrible time commenting on blogs lately. I'll hit the 'Post A Comment' link five times and still only get a blank -- and have to give up. My life's been a crush lately and I just can't seem to catch up in Blogville at all.

ReplyDeleteKay, glad it's fixed. These sites just seem to have their own minds; kind of like us huh? Dina, check for a virus. There's a site you can check for viruses. Google trend micro housecall and download the free virus scan.
