It Must Be Fall in Hawaii

This is it! It must be fall. I actually changed out of my shorts and tank top to long jeans and a short sleeve t-shirt. Granted I could change back in another hour but for this morning, by golly, it's just a teeny tiny bit cool.

I love it!

I am not one for heat and humidity. It's one of the reasons why my son-in-law says he can never live in Hawaii. Ah well... Don't ask me why he can come here and lie in the sunshine in the summer. I wish they could come and live in Hawaii but well paying jobs here are very scarce.

Art is out doing his Marathon training run right now and it's raining off and on. He's been gone an awful long time this morning. He was gone before I awoke and I had my breakfast a long time ago. Since I can't get myself to even do my walking exercise consistently, it amazes me that he loves to exercise, almost needs it or he's crawling up the walls.

Good grief! He left around 5:30 AM and it's 10:22 now. Where the heck is he?

Hmmmm... since we're going to a pot luck at our friends' home tonight, I'd better take a little walk on my Nordic Track. I'll have to wipe the dust off of it first though. Maybe it'll keep me from worrying.

For a wonderful laugh, click on over to Sylvia From Over the Hill. This is one joke I just had to encourage you to see to lighten your day.

Postscript
11:02 AM: I was just getting to the point of calling the police but opted instead to call my son, Jon in New Mexico. He agreed that it was rather long for his dad to be out but thought Art might be walking or standing under a tree somewhere because of the rain.

I told Jon every time the dogs across the street bark I think it's Art but it's not. "And there those dogs go again," I grumbled.

A white cap came bobbing up over the fence line. It was Art. He's back and I've made his smoothie for him. Sheesh!

  1. yep, it's almost winter. LOL. One of my potted palms fell down in the wind. And I'm wearing a long-sleeved long muumuu for lunch with my friend, Dawn.

    Enjoy your day, Kay.

  2. Enjoy your so-called fall.
I too put on a winter shirt this morning for a change but was sweating by the time I walked around half of Jerusalem.
That joke makes me laugh every time.
    Hope Art got home safe.

  3. I would LOVE to live in heat and humidity but just can't afford Hawai'i. It rarely gets *warm* enough for jeans and a t-shirt here; we almost always need at least a long-sleeved shirt or light jacket.

Bravo to Art! My husband and I both have doctor's orders to walk daily, for different reasons, and we just never do, between the weather and the narrow dangerous roads near us. We finally broke down and bought a treadmill and it's been the best thing ever; we really are exercising every day.

I hate it. But I do it.

    Sylvia's joke was awesome!!

  6. That's fall in Hawaii, huh? It's rainy, windy, gray and cold here in Seattle and I'm wearing three layers!! Glad Art made it home safely!

I'm glad you enjoyed the joke, it says so much about what we hear/see and what we THINK we hear/see! And it doesn't really matter who we are because basically we're all alike.

Enjoy the rest of your day!!

    Sylvia

  7. It must be strange not having changing seasons. I couldn't take the hat and humidity either.
Glad Art is back and you can stop worrying.

  8. Glad Art returned home safely. So enjoyed the joke! Gee I would love to have "your" fall here right now, I just had to turn up the heat, its damp and cooling down fast. Have a nice week!

  9. Christopher does that to me too, goes out for a run and stays out way longer than I expect; he eventually rolls in with some excuse about getting lost, or stopping to chat, or even stopping for a coffee, and can't understand why I'm getting a tad worried.

  11. Hi Kay! I would like to visit Hawaii, but I don't think I could ever live there. I like the changing seasons and cool (cold) temps.
I'm glad Art is home safe and sound. That was a long time.
    Enjoy your dinner tonight. Lisa

  13. I am so glad Art is home! I got worried just reading your post. From now on he jogs with his cell phone! Yikes.

I woke about 4 a.m. and grabbed a light blanket for the bed. The sheet wasn't enough. I didn't close the windows though. I think it's been over two years since I last closed a window!

  15. I have missed fall here as we had so little of it ...winter arrived early!

My huuby goes riding his bike and loses track of time.
Once I was so worried I did call the police but he came back just after I made the call.

Glad Art got home safe and sound!

  16. I am sitting here wrapped up in fleece pyjamas and a warm dressing gown, waiting for the central heating to kick in. I miss South Africa!

    Enjoy your gentle autumn.

  17. For so many reasons i can't explain here ,it is not safe here to follow the same route for morning walks so we made a track around our house itself but on a holiday we do go outside ....i think men are more regular in their health regimes than we do.

It is already cold here as we are using blankets at night and it gets dark by 4.30 in the evening.

    I love warmer places...

  18. Enjoy the cooler weather! It was cooler here in Charlotte but now it is in the 70's and 80's again! I think some cooler weather is headed this way though. Glad Art got back ok!

  19. Our Nordi Trak is buried somewhere in the basement, so deeply that I'm not sure I could find it even if I wanted to, thank heavens! We both get lots of exercise, though: Ken via hard physical work around our home each day, and me via the community's exercise program and walking the dog daily.
