My Granddaughter

My granddaughter is 2 and a half years old. She's the one in pink next to her very good friend. I was in the hospital room when she was born. I'm looking at these photos that my daughter posts on Flickr for us and I can hardly believe how much she's grown in just the 5 months since we've seen her last. We'll be seeing her next month in person and I can hardly wait. My problem is I want to buy up tons of toys for her. Don't worry, I'm not. However, I will make sure there is a water bucket and lots of cups for her. She loves playing with water. I wonder if she'll still be afraid of sand like she was last year. She wouldn't leave the blanket when we took her to the beach last summer. I have a feeling she won't be so easy to contain this year.

  2. What a cutie, you're going to so enjoy having her to visit - but you'll probably be quite glad to hand her back at the end of each busy day!

  3. Does KC know how to go up and down steps? She will get lots of practice at your place. Lots of fodder for your blog!

  4. She is so adorable! God bless flickr! I miss my 4 year old grandson so much, and I'm so grateful that Kitty posts photos all the time. I can print those I want to frame or put into my album.

  5. Irene was finally not afraid of the waves at the beach this year. She's just over four years old.
It's funny. some kids love to get all sandy, and some don't.
Easy and cheap toy - Play Doh. You can get four cans for two dollars. A bargain, and it's so cheap you can easily throw it away later and buy new stuff for the next visit.

  6. buy some books to read together and plan art projects like threading beads large ones to make necklaces. The important thing is your interaction-not what you buy here. You will have tons of fun.

  7. Oh wow, how cute is this!!
But why does such an adorable age have to fly by so quickly? I was looking at photos of my youngest (just turned 3) and she only a few months ago she was a chubby toddler. In just a few weeks she stretched up out of all her clothes and now looks more like a little girl than a baby...and I keep wondering where the baby part went LOL.

If I was going to Hawaii to visit my Grandma, I would not need toys! I can't wait to see what fun you have.

  8. She looks so cute! Its always nice to have your grandmother around. Mine passed away when I was very young so I did not get to know her. I'm sure she'll start to love the beach. Come on! You're in Hawaii! =D hAHhah....

  11. Oh so sweet! Ashton used to abhor the beach when she was around KC's age, I think it was the grainy feeling and heat (the sand can be pretty hot)and I used to have a small container of baby powder to wipe her legs and hands down with before getting into the car, it wipes all the sand off. You will have so much fun that I bet you won't have time for toys!
