This time we didn't have to go out to Kailua. Instead, we headed toward Hawaii Kai where you can see lots of big estates. Karen was selling her file cabinet because she's moving to Arizona. She says her home sold in 3 days! That's incredible!
I'm so busy chatting that I didn't look close enough to see the big stain on one side. I knew there were the 4 holes but I figured we could deal with it. The stain is problematic. Still... for $30.00, I'm OK with it.

We were going to put the file cabinet on the right side but decided to stick it on the left to hide the imperfections. The cabinet can hold legal or letter size folders. I'm thinking it's pretty darn wonderful.

Happy Father's Day, Art!
And a fantastic and fun Father's Day to all the fabulous fathers out there!
ROFL Oh Art, that first photo looks like OUR house! Some organisation seems like a wonderful gift, and I can't believe how beautifully it matches what was already there.
ReplyDeleteSelling a house in three days in THIS economy, holy cow--Karen knows what she's doing, or she's got soooooome house.
Happy Father's Day to Art! The best part must be knowing the kids are coming so soon now; it's almost July already.
Indeed, happy Fathers Day to a model father. Every kid should be so lucky to have a father like Art.
ReplyDeleteHow 'bout you buy him a desk or table? I worry, where does Art put his legs? :)
Me too, I can't live without a filing system, but my table and room still look like Art's, papers everywhere. Meanwhile I use cardboard boxes as filing cabinets. But why is it, in Israel no one has heard of manila file folders? So I have to make my own or use those hanging ones with the metal.
Yalla... you inspire me to go make some order in my mess.
Titchadshu on your new thing.
My gift to David will be me barbequing some kalbi on the grill on Father's Day. Haven't done that in a while.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the cool find!
KAY.....a very thoughtful gift ...hearing from you and all your friends Art sounds like a great father....i wish both of you a happy dad day(behind every successful father there is a mom.....lol)
ReplyDeletegreat find, matches wonderfully. happy father's day to your hubby. we couldn't do without the men in our life.
ReplyDeletePerfect! And the price is certainly right. In the first photo, of Art's "filing system," it looks like he uses much the same technique as Ken: just pile more stuff on top of the stuff already there. He'll be cured of that though, with his new file cabinet, won't he? Won't he?
ReplyDeleteGreat gift, Happy Father's Day to Art. Craigslist is wonderful and it is environmentally friendly along with the prices.
ReplyDeleteI have a Hoosier and it is my favorite piece of furniture. I love it beyond words.
ReplyDeleteHmm..so I'm not the only one with the same kind of filing system as Art..phew!What a wonderful find for "filing". His office looks very "professional"!Art certainly sounds like a great husband/father/grandfather and a Happy Father's Day to him.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at Art's filing system.(and kudos to him for allowing you to post it!) After collecting myself off the floor, I had to google hoosier. Never heard of it before. Now I know more about them than I ever really needed to. hehe...Dennis said it must be a mainland thing, he never heard of it either.
ReplyDeleteYou DO get the best stuff off Craigslist! What a great buy!
Happy father's day Art!
Looks like the the filing cabinet was made to go along with th hosier. Great gift that keeps on giving!
ReplyDeleteHappy Father's Day Art!!!!!
What a difference in the first and last photos! I had to laugh, looks all too much like my desk!! And what a lovely difference! Cool!
ReplyDeleteHappy Father's Day to Art! Hope you have a great day -- all of you!!
Good match! It looks great!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, give Art my regards and tell him Happy Fathers Day!
ReplyDeleteGood bargain hunting.
It's always nice to find a piece of furniture that will store away things that will make life a little bit more tolerable. If I had the room in my tiny apartment, I'd be all over that! I am not a fan of clutter, I tend not to have knick knacks around for fear they do collect dust and it just looks "messy"... good find on that piece!
ReplyDeleteThat's a perfect match! Happy Dad's day to Art.
ReplyDeleteHappy Father's Day Art..You are the bargain hunter Kay....
