Skyping Mother's Day

Our son, Jon and his Sarah webcammed us on Skype this morning to wish me a Happy Mother's Day. We had such a fun conversation planning for their visit in July.

Jon also sent me a You Tube video of our nephew, Shawn. Shawn's stage name used to be B.B. Shawn and he's had several CDs out under that name. He's since dropped the B.B. part which was given to him when he was first discovered. This second You Tube video shows Shawn himself.

Jon says one of the first things he and Sarah would like to do is to watch his cousin perform in Waikiki. That will be a lot of fun since we never get to see Shawn at our regular family functions since he's always working.

And speaking of Shawn here we are with his mom, Nancy, dad (my brother, Dennis) brothers Cody and Barry with his wife, Miho. It's been a lovely Mother's Day!

From having the house quiet everyday, July is promising to be quite hectic with Jon and Tiffany both here with their families. I can hardly wait!

You will have to have a 4 generation photo taken with that dear little KC!Enjoyed checking out Shawn's videos, what a wonderful gift he has. Thanks for sharing! And is that an ice cream cake...

  6. Kay;

Looks like you had a wonderful Mother's Day! Isn't it wonderful when your children call you and you didn't even have to remind them!

Tif..you are a great mother, following in your mother's dainty footprints!

  7. Do you have enough beds for everybody?

I loved your beautiful tribute to your daughter. You realize, though, that she had you to emulate!

  8. I think I'm repeating myself LOL but Kay you are SO lucky and blessed in your family--I always love your photos!

Good luck with all these preparations for July; I'll bet it's wonderful. I love the smiles on Jon and Sarah.

Of course, there's NO reason on earth I suddenly want cake with chocolate all over....
    *sigh*

  9. Abe: Thank you, Abe. I just wish my children could live in Hawaii, too.

Dina: Yes, they'll all be under one roof. This will be the first time that we'll have them ALL here (including Sarah).

Jean: That went right to my mother's heart. Thank you. Jon was looking a bit scruffy in the Skype photo but I always think he's rather cute.

Mare: Oh yes oh Yes! I can't wait to do things in the island with KC! I hope she's not afraid of sand this time.

Cheryl: We'll definitely have another 4 generative photo taken. We had one when KC was younger.
Thank you for looking at Shawn's video. He's such a sweet, talented guy.
It's not an ice cream cake. It's called a Dream Cake. My brother and I used to have that for EVERY birthday. Somehow, we still seem to need to have it.

Peggy: Yup! I didn't have to remind either kid. Yae!!! Thank you for the "dainty."

Gigi: Thank you, Gigi. Tif has always been a very loving child. Beds? Actually, we're one bed short but we've got an aerobed, unless we find a bed we really like and actually buy it before they come.

Susan: It was quite delicious. I wish I could bring you some to taste. I felt like mailing those plastic fruit sticks to you so you could make the fruit bouquet for your party, too.

  13. Lin: Thanks Lin! It is really a nice place to live in winter. The summers are a bit hot for me.

Denise: Thanks for listening to Shawn. I'm still in awe of his talent. He's always said that it's OK that he's blind because he feels he has the gift of his music.

Sherri: I do have to say that cake was quite yummy.

  14. Hi, Kay. I'm catching up after being away for two days. I Skyped with my grandchildren and daughter on Saturday before going to my sister's for a Mother's Day gathering. They live two hours south of Seattle, out in the country. Then we took my mother back home to Oregon. We stayed overnight and then helped her buy and plant her petunias before coming home yesterday.
My grandkids and daughter arrive May 29th for a three week visit, and then the whole family returns in late July for two weeks. I am excited, too, and we have lots to do to get ready.
