When we arrived in Chicago last month, KC was as sick as could be. I didn't catch her cold even though I often carried her. I haven't been sick in 4 years since I retired from teaching.
My son-in-law, Ed arrived from California for a computer job earlier in the week and was suffering from what he thought was food poisoning. I was suspecting it was more than that and sure enough, I ended up with the same MISERY on Friday!
I am signed up to do the charity Aloha Run tomorrow. Art is going to run the 8 miles. My friend, Diane, her husband, Dave and I plan to walk. Diane has a bad back and I feel as weak as a kitten.
Ah well... it'll be interesting to see who peters out first, Diane or me. I can almost make a sure bet.
Oh, I do feel for you! It's been strange but I rarely get sick -- until this year, got to be the age thing, but whatever it is I wish it would stop visiting me! I hope the same for you! Good luck today!
ReplyDeletesorry to hear of your sickness, usually it's the grandkids that give it to us and not the inlaws.
ReplyDeleteThe stomach flu usually lasts just 24 hrs. Let's hope so for your sake. Have fun tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteHugs!!!!!! I hope you get well soon!!!!
ReplyDeleteI've been amazingly healthy since I retired too (knocking on wood here) but methinks not coming into contact with so many kids everyday makes a huge difference. I'm sorry you're under the weather and hope you feel better soon. Take care ;--)
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
Oh Kay hope you are better soon. I am voting for you. I think you will make it, I truly do! Its a wonder you didnt catch anything with the changes in climate! Take Care and Art is a runner - I never knew! I would be lucky to walk 8 miles let alone run it!
ReplyDeleteYou go girl! But be smart about it. If you are sick, don't do it.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you caught the 'ick', that's what we call the flu in our house, as in, "Ick I've got the flu." Take it easy and listen to your body. If it says rest, REST!
ReplyDeleteOh no! I hope you feel better soon enough to have fun and a very successful day at the Aloha Run--best wishes to Diane too, and to Art for running so far. Perhaps Dave can walk between you and Diane, and help hold you two up?
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
I know what you mean about not being sick since retiring and leaving those germy kids. Jake and Tom and I all came home with cold like symptoms after our three day visit with the grandkids after Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to be spending seven days at our local elementary school later this month administering ELL English speaking tests. I'm better take my vitamins.
Wishing you a speedy recovery and a successful walk/run. Be careful.
Hope you are feeling much better. Wow, you and Art are amazing to do the Aloha Run. I hope you are able to participate. Good Luck and my bet is on you!
ReplyDeleteOh no Kay, I am ever so sorry you're feeling so ill. Hope you feel better before your run tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI am amazed at the kind of energy you have! I hope you're feeling better soon. Good luck on your walk Kay!
ReplyDeleteAww, shame. Sei gesund und stark.
ReplyDeleteAwww.... I hope you are feeling better today...
ReplyDeleteHug♥
After-the-fact, I'm glad you were well enough to do the race. You certainly are determined...way to go, Kay!
