Sky Watch Friday: Skies Over Salt Lake City

Here are a couple of sunrise photos as we flew into Salt Lake City, Utah. We were awed by the snow capped mountains, and Salt Lake that looked like it was being iced over.

I wanted to take photos when we flew into Chicago as the sun set but had to put our cameras away for the descent. For even more incredible skies around the world, click onto Sky Watch Friday.

  2. Those are gorgeous: I've never been to that part of the world but it's beautiful.

You've reminded me to go book my seat for my flight on Tuesday, to be sure I get a window!

Thanks for the lovely photos Kay, and have a safe flight home again when your visit's over--

  4. Your photos are beautiful! I lived in Salt Lake City for a year some time ago and it happened to be one of those years when there was lots of snow and the mountains were/are gorgeous! Thanks for for sharing, Kay!

  5. You obviously landed from the north, circling over the Great Salt Lake flats. Depending on the wind, sometimes planes land from the south.

It is nice that you took some pictures. Funny that someone who lives in Hawaii would post pictures of Salt Lake City, and I am in Salt Lake, but my last SkyWatch post was on a plane from South Carolina.

  11. Awesome views.
I've learned how to reopen the window shade for more photos after the flight attendant comes around demanding everyone shut them. Are they crazy? Miss the clouds at sunset?!

  13. Kay - referring back to your comment on Isaac's mask - it came from the local Democratic club or committee. His shirt said "Somos el cambio" or "We are the change."

  20. Wonderful photos taken from the plane. I seldom have luck with such pictures when I try to take them. I've shared SKY collages at Sacred Ruminations and Happily Retired Gal today with some Haiku as usual.
    Hugs and blessings,
