It's a New Day!

Does the air feel fresher? .. the temperature warmer?.... our smiles broader?

I guess it just feels like a brighter, happier, more hopeful new day.

We spent almost all day watching TV and soaking in the excitement of the inauguration. I think I missed hearing the swearing in the first time because I was so busy taking photos of KC in front of the TV to record the momentous occasion.

Have a terrific new day everybody!

  6. That's a photo for her to keep always, isn't it? Well worth having to enjoy the festivities second-hand, I think, to snap it.

I think the whole world needed this fresh beginning, and that is exactly what it feels like. We needed a big celebration, I think, just for the strength to keep going forward.

Meanwhile, the Irish Times gave us a big special section on the new President today, including many photos from his Hawaiian days, including his basketball team photo. Thinking of *my* childhood photos, that's one reason to be glad I'm not famous!!

  11. How adorable she is!!!!!!

I heard a lot of things I didn't like today that reminded me that all is not skittles and beer. Yesterday gave me hope. Today reality set in.

  14. I was captivated for the Inaugural Activities all day too ... and am filled with hope even as I realize things are likely to take a long time to get better. Sorry to be visiting so late ... but life's been way too busy for me to spend much time online for a while now.
    hugs and blessings,
