I'm not posting on Sky Watch Friday today because we're leaving Chicago after lunch to return to the suburbs where I have dial-up again and can't blog easily. However, here is the Chicago skyline outside my daughter's window. That's the Sears Tower shivering under the frigid skies. I hear it's below 0 until Friday! I think I'll call my mom and ask if it's cool in Hawaii, too.
Kay, have you seen Obama's house in south Chicago? If you do, please take a picture.
ReplyDeleteDavid wants to visit Chicago someday -- mainly due to ER.
It does look clear and really cold! What a great shot of the Sears Tower! Bet you won't miss this weather when you get back to Hawaii!
ReplyDeleteI had dial-up years ago and could not imagine dealing with that again. My heart breaks for you. Thanks for sharing this picture. It's a great one! Hope you're enjoying your visit!
ReplyDeleteGigi: Gosh! I have no idea where Barack Obama lives/lived. I think his home is in Hyde Park which is south of here. If we ever go past, I'll take a photo but we usually head north instead of south.
ReplyDeleteSylvia: I hear it's -8 degrees outside. We'll be venturing out in a few hours. Brrrr... I think the high is supposed to be -1. Sheesh!
Joyce: We had dial up a few years ago and resisted getting high speed. It used to drive our son-in-law crazy. Now that we're used to high speed, dial up is making us crazy, too.
Below 0? Yikes!! I think I'll stop complaining about the 20s we're experiencing today.
ReplyDeleteI hear Chicago is sending its cold blast of air to us here in the Northeast. Gosh, thank you! It's 12° here today and is supposed to get much colder starting tonight.
ReplyDeleteSuch a contrast to your header picture. brrrrrrr.
ReplyDeletewell, it's 58 degrees today in southern utah-we're not complaining...retire where it's warm I always say and we did! enjoy the warmth of family and friendships.
ReplyDeleteIt's sunny and 48 degrees here. Sweater weather. The ground is still covered with snow, but the roads are dry. My son told me it was 90 degrees in Huntington Beach yesterday. He called to tell me he was heading out to grab a tan. Having just gne through several days of 12 degree weather, my first instinct was to slap him.
ReplyDeleteBet you'll be happy to get back to Ye Olde Homstead... or is that NEW homestead... and warm your toes in the white sand eh?
I was watching the news/weather report and immediately thought of how you all are handling the frigid cold. And to think I was complaining because when I got to work the other morning it was 59 in Mililani! Needless to say I drove w/ the heater on full blast. It has been warming up to the high 70's but I'm still freezing!
ReplyDeleteBundle yourselves up and make sure to keep KC warm!
We've been having record temperatures in the mid-80s here at the beach in So Cal due to gusty Santa Ana winds. I'd love some cooler temps and RAIN right about now ;--)
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
It is ver=r=y cold here in central NY. Stay warm.
ReplyDeleteThe photo gave me the shivers, but I was already half-frozen here in Maine! You must be very warm with happiness and joy of being with your loved ones though.
ReplyDeleteIt's down below 40 here after a high of 44 and the sun has not been able to break through the high fog, but it's not raining, not snowing, not freezing, so I'll take it. I would like a bit of blue sky, though.
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice piture, Kay. The sky is so clear and blue, I don't see a single cloud, how pretty. Going back to dial-up...ummm...I feel a flashback coming on. I used to click on, go wash dishes, clothes, vacuum, you know. Well anyway, you have the kids to help keep you occupied while you wait for a connection.
ReplyDeleteHave a good Friday and a relaxing weekend.
