Any Opinions on the Honda Fit?

We're really leaning toward getting the Honda Fit when we return to Hawaii. It's either that or the Scion. We have an Odyssey minivan right now that we only used for family trips or to haul large things for the last 11 years. We need a smaller, gas efficient car for Hawaii. Does anybody have an opinion about these two cars?

  1. Kay;

    I don't know anything about either car! Big help, i know.
    I like the looks of the Honda fit, nice! I have a Honda CRV , and I really like, but would like it even better if it was more fuel efficient! tisk I'm afraid that my scooter won't fit in the Fit

  2. Aren't Hondas the most frequently stolen car in Hawaii? Other than that thought, I think the Fit looks cute. It might even get you to drive again!

  5. I don't know about the cars either. I am hoping for some new technology by the time we buy our next car.
    Will you keep your van and buy a second car? We have a Voyager mini-van that we thought about trading in, but now you can't hardly give them away, and it is useful when the family comes or we need to haul stuff. We have a small Toyota that we drive around most of the time.
    So much to consider.

  6. The Fit is definitely cuter than the Scion (which looks kind of like a toaster on wheels), Just try them out, drive a little, choose the one you like the best.

  7. I don't know either other than that the Fit is Cute!! I have a friend that has one - she has a 45 minute commute to work every day - and she loves hers. I have a 2000 Honda Odyssey and have certainly loved it.

  8. Given a choice, I'd buy a Honda or a Toyota over any car on the road. So... I'm thinkin the Fit. The Honda Civic is the most stolen automibile nationwide. But, according to the last article we received on it, it's mainly the Civic... not all Hondas. As a matter of fact, my son's was stolen from in fron of his home in Huntington Beach. The recovered the shell of it two weeks later.

    We drive a Suburu Outback now that we love...it's GRRRRREAT in the snow. Not a real consideration for you in Hawaii. we've owned a wide range of cars in our life together. The Hondas and Toyotas have been wonderful. Needed no repairs, got good mileage, gave a smooth ride... kept up a good resale value. My daughter had a Honda Pilot. Her hubby surprised her by selling it and buying her a brand new Mercedes SUV. They ended up trading it in on another Pilot. They liked the Mercedes, don't get me wrong... but, there were a lot of advantages to driving the Pilot.

    So, as for me and my house... .we will vote for the Honda Fit.

  10. Gigi: As a matter of fact... My brother works for the Honolulu Police Department and he's told me not to get the Honda Civic even though it's supposed to be a great car.

    Linda: Yes, we're keeping our Honda Odyssey because we need it to haul building materials to our house. We're still working on the house. We're also expecting quite a few guests this year who we'll need to drive around.

    Caryn: Wow! Your son-in-law is really nice!

    Sherri: The Scion tC looks very nice but I think we're looking at the xD which is more gas efficient and compares with the Fit.

    Everybody: You're right. We'll have to drive them around and make the decision. I hate car buying decisions.

  12. Can't speak for either car you're considering, but we have a Honda Accord and love the thing. Well-designed, lots of power although only a 4-cylinder engine, very gas efficient. I'd buy another Honda in a heartbeat.
