He calls himself James the Gutterman and he is as nice as can be. We get ferocious winds that bombard our house causing the gutters to rattle like a machine gun. The gutters that James installed a couple of years ago came loose again. He came over and climbed right up to the top of the house under very blue skies and reinforced the whole thing. I know the neighbors are thrilled.
For more lovely skies, please visit Sky Watch Friday.
Send James over to clean my gutters please, they are full of leaves! Happy skywatch :)
ReplyDeleteGreat photo!!
ReplyDeleteTake care and thanks for commenting on my blog!!
HAPPY SWF
Hi Kay, it is always nice to be able to call on a handyman to do those tasks. For years I did it myself, but now support the guys wkho do it for a living.
ReplyDeleteAt least he stands behind his work... or perhaps above it! Scary shot!
ReplyDeleteAwesome shot, what a dangerous way to make a living. May your gutters keep quiet for a long time to come! :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind comment on my blog!
Sounds like a stand-up kind of guy. And a lot friendlier than his cousin Joe The Plumber! Maybe it's the climate that makes him so agreeable. Sounds like it's good for business at least.
ReplyDeleteThat is a unique SkyWatch, oh yeah!
ReplyDeleteDid you get nervous watching him?
The house is big. Nice. But now I understand how much work you have building and finishing it.
BTW, we don't have gutters here.
What a great shot for Skywatch - an Identified sitting object! Really enjoyed scrolling through your blog - will be back.
ReplyDeleteJames will have to hold on tight if those winds suddenly decide to blow in. I have a terrible fear for heights so James will have to come and do mine as well. Oh, sorry, I just realised that I don't actually have gutters.
ReplyDeleteI've never been to Hawaii and did not know it got so windy there. hmmm. Interesting. Cool photo too. Beautiful sky!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post, shot too. Happy swf;)
ReplyDeleteGood and unusual choice for SWF.
ReplyDeleteThis is an interesting shot and, I agree with Ilanadavita, an unusual but good choice for SWF! Have a beautiful week-end!
ReplyDeleteThe previous comment is from me ... Sorry I clicked on anonymous by mistake :-(
ReplyDeleteVery original entry. I like it very much.
ReplyDeleteClever and great shot.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very brave man, Kay! But gutters are necessary! I like your photo and also your header!
ReplyDeleteEveryone must be thrilled!
ReplyDeleteLooks like he has perfect weather to be up there. A very nice shot!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo for SWF :)
ReplyDeleteLovely shot for sky watch!
ReplyDeletehe is brave! It's neat he comes to help fix things. I like your sky watch photo.
ReplyDeleteA fitting Sky Watch tribute to the Gutterman! Hooray! Lovely sky!
ReplyDeleteA great choice... nice to have a friendly handy guy up there!
ReplyDeleteI promise to visit longer when my health is stronger.

I wish he would come here; ours creak and scare the kids in the middle of the night.
ReplyDeleteThat's such a great shot of him up there under the blue skies, it would make a gorgeous business card or brochure photo, I think. I wish we had such blue skies these days!!
You're my third stop of the evening, but now, I need to go eat some supper! This was a great shot! I'm glad it's not me up there!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot! Nice composition!
ReplyDeleteLovely house. :)
Rather him than me. Certainly a very different skywatch image.
ReplyDeleteI don't like heights but James looks most comfortable up there under the blue skies. Happy SWF!
ReplyDeleteYes! Heroic Makahiki winds.
ReplyDeleteI posted about them today too ;-)
Aloha, Neighbor-
I bet your winters and winds are nothing like chicago in winter. enjoy your paradise.
ReplyDeleteAn unusual Sky Watch indeed. Very nice post and photo.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sky Watch!
What a nice guy and it's a great take for SWF.
ReplyDeleteGood guy watch - er, sky watch!
ReplyDeleteThat is a long way up there - glad the gutters are fixed. Great picture!
ReplyDeleteBrave gutter man.
ReplyDeletePerfect sky for him to do his job!:)Nice entry!
ReplyDeleteHappy SWF!take care!
Oh please send him over to me, we've had the new gutters waiting to be installed for 7 yrs. and the chap hasn't found the time to come back yet!
ReplyDeleteNice shot.
Kay: Neat capture of the gutterman in the sky.
ReplyDeleteKay, glad you got the gutter noise taken care of! There is nothing worse than having to listen to things rattle in the wind that you can't fix. We used to have a loose piece of siding when we lived in NJ and the wind sounded like a whistle going through it every time. We were so relieved when my Dad sent one of his men to fix it. Nice and quiet after that!
ReplyDeleteGreat sky watch picture.
ReplyDeleteCleverly done ! ! !
Gr.
P-TER
Great shot...send him my way. :)
ReplyDeleteAh ... my gutters aren't LOOSE, but they are filled with debris and need to be cleaned out. Wish I knew someone who did this kind of thing ... especially with RAIN predicted for the next few days ;--)
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
Gutterman would be my husbands hero...Jim's afraid of heights! Great photo Kay!
ReplyDeleteHa! Those gutters can be pesky when loose. Our neighbors gutters were detached completely and hanging on our patio. It took them 6 months to get it replaced! James is not afraid of heights!
ReplyDeleteOh, I like that you call your husband, your favorite!
ReplyDeleteI could never do that job! Happy SWF!!
ReplyDeleteVery brave of him to climb up there, and very lucky of you to live in such a lovely spot.
ReplyDeleteMy husband is a gutterman, so this is a very familiar site to me. The problem we get here is from snow build..
