We just had this naked light bulb hanging for two years because we couldn't decide what to put up.

We finally bought it at a small store called Lighting Concepts in Honolulu and installed it. Then we stuck on some dimmable CFLs that work OK but is a little harsh. When you dim it, it buzzes.

And here it is all done!

You two did a great job, it looks really nice hanging there - like it's been there. You said...we. Now, what was your part of the job? Mine is usually 'pass the screwdriver, pliers, hold the flashlight, tear off some tape, etc.
ReplyDeleteAh hah! You guessed it, Dellgirl. I held the chandelier up and checked the web for the height the chandelier should be. Also did a lot of passing. It really was a two man job, honest.
ReplyDeleteWhat a handy chap Art is. Christopher has many talents but sadly DIY isn't one of them - hanging pictures and putting up simple shelves is about the limit of his expertise. We have a house full of wonky pictures and shelves!
ReplyDeleteYAY on the new chandelier! Let there be light!!
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely! And it looks perfect with such a high ceiling; it fills the space nicely.
ReplyDeleteI always say things like "we need to fix that door" and "we just put a new floor down" when my role was of course no more than *deciding* the door needed to be fixed, or *choosing* the new floor at the store. "We" are such a good team, LOL! Of course, I'm the one who'll be keeping that floor clean for the next twenty years, so that counts, right?
Congratulations on your beautiful new light, and I'm glad it works---so didn't need to be returned!
The new light looks great, Kay. A job well done.
ReplyDeleteisn't that fun to see a completed project and then move on to the next one? I have a handy husband also...and love to hand him things and encourage him. right now he's making a workbench for a little shop to keep him busy with retirement projects.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice job you did. Things go better working as a team! Beautiful light and such a cheery looking room.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Whay are those instructions so badly written? . . . . .hmmmmm. aloha-
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! We've been meaning to order a hanging light for our dining room for a few years. It just doesn't seem to get done.
ReplyDeleteWell done. Doesn't it feel good to get something really done?
ReplyDeleteVery enlightening! :-) It looks lovely. We are very much do-it-yourself people too and after we retired we bought an old house about 100 years old. There were many jobs that had to be done, and many unexpected jobs also.
ReplyDeleteWell done ... everything looks lovely!
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
