Sky Watch Friday: Petrified Forest National Park

This is the Agate House at Arizona's Petrified Forest National Park. It is made of petrified wood logs and is an incredible thing to see. Art and I enjoyed our trip there when we were driving cross country from Illinois to Long Beach California where we shipped our van to Hawaii. There were so many beautiful skies on this trip.

  5. Perfect catch for SWF! In the sky, there is no distinction of east and west; people create distinctions out of their own minds and then beleive them to be true. Mine’s up too hope you can drop by… Happy SWF!

  30. We drove to the Rockies once and I got a one inch souvenir of petrified wood, which I treasured. As an eleven-year-old, I thought it was so amazing. Still do.
    What was your forest like?

  31. Hi Kay! This looks like a beautiful park to visit. The sky is amazing. Lisa

  32. Lin asked if it would be fall in Hawaii and Dina asked about the forest.
It will be fall around November which means we get just the teeniest bit cooler and have more rainfall.
The petrified forest was a desert filled with wood that had been changed into rocks strewn about the grounds.
