Sky Watch Friday: Double Rainbows

Looking out our front door, we often see a lot of rainbows. This one turned out to be a double rainbow that was so bright that we could see the reflection on the car. Maybe it's because we've been here only a little over a month, but we still get so excited everytime we see one.

For more fabulous Sky Watch skies, come join us at Sky Watch Friday!

  3. Very cool, especially the reflection!
Kay, I just found your comment on my site. How exciting that your son is in the process of climbing Mt Rainier. He couldn't have more perfect weather. I have a peek-a-boo window view of the mountain right now and it is clear as clear can be.
My two kids climbed the mountain together on an August day much like this one about 7 or 8 years ago. I looked up at the mountain that day, knowing they were at the summit. What an accomplishment.

  5. Yep, the 'Rainbow Van' is also my favorite! I think this Sky Watch Friday thing is such a fun. I like seeing pictures of the sky from so many places. I always run outside and check mine to see who we look the most like.

  18. Tell you mom I said, Hello. Your mom's name was not "Jeanie" was it? Jeanie knitted my first baby a pair of baby booties. She was a nice lady.

All of my photos were taken between 1953 and 1956 in and around Sendai. I have a few from Sapporo, Tokyo and Yokohama.

Just a note in case you get to Sendai.

    Go to:

Sendai City Museum of History and Folklore.

It is over the Hirose River close to the Sendai International Center and Tohoku University.

  21. Oh, just so fabulous with the double rainbow. Makes me excited too ;-) When I was a kid I always thought there would be a pot of gold coins at the end of the rainbow. Now I know better ;-)

Have a nice day you too.

  28. Wow-wee! May you continue to get excited over rainbows forever.
I always am reminded of God's rainbow covenant with Noah, that he would put the bow in the clouds as a sign of his promise never to destroy the world by flood again.
